INTRODUCTION
Robert Graves (Graves 1968) writes, "Mythology is the study of whatever religious or heroic legends are so foreign to a student's experience that he cannot believe them to be true; hence the English adjective 'mythical' meaning 'incredible'; hence the omission from standard European mythologies of all Biblical narrative even when closely paralleled by myths from Persia, Babylonia, Egypt and Greece."
For many modern skeptics the world's oldest writings, on clay, stone and papyrus, is simply myth. However, if we dismiss all of the ancient literature and inscriptions - the Bible, the Koran, the Mahabharata, and the thousands of clay tablets from Mesopotamia - as too incredible to believe, we would still have to deal with the question of the physical evidence. Who built the ancient megalithic structures? How were they built? Why the practice of building pyramids at ancient sites all over Earth for a period or time, and then suddenly abandon them? Who marked the Earth's surface with gigantic lines and figures? Who created the astonishing artwork on Mars? Why and how were these things done? In this space age, with it's remarkable technological advances, it is becoming apparent that the "miracles", and other seemingly supernatural events reported in ancient texts, the megalithic constructions, and the enigmatic lines and artwork over the Earth, resulted from an advanced technology which was incomprehensible and indescribable by the ancient human observers. On these pages we take the position that there is a reasonable explanation, within natural law, for these mysteries.
In this series of articles we will review the evidence that these mysteries are attributable to ancient astronauts; extraterrestrials who have visited Earth in prehistoric and historical times, and have interacted with humans or their evolutionary predecessors, i.e. what authors throughout history have referred to as "the gods".

The AA Hypothesis In Brief
AAs first came to Earth many millennia ago. They were beings whose biology was similar to modern humans. They created modern mankind by mixing their genetic makeup with that of sub-humans. The purpose of mankind was to serve the AAs, principally by providing food and mining and construction labor. The AAs did not allow humans to view them - only their symbols (idols), suggesting that their appearance was frightening; however humans were occasionally permitted to see their emissaries, e.g. "geniuses" and "angels". They also would not allow humans near them, except priests who had cleansed and covered themselves and spread a germicide, suggesting their susceptibility to earthly diseases. They apparently moved about the Earth in spacecraft using chemical fuel, and only landed on mountaintops or other rocky outcroppings; this reduced the dust and provided physical protection from humans, and disease control. The earliest sites had a cave under the rock that protected the priests during the coming and going of the spacecraft. Later they built, or provided humans with tools to build, cyclopean structures - huge earthen, baked brick, or stone ceremonial platforms and pyramids, which served as landmarks and as landing and feeding sites. Since they had little defense against earthly bacteria, they developed methods to nourish themselves with the vapors emanating from food and drink which humans provided and burned for them. The food and drink was provided through the custom of sacrifice, the burning of the meat and blood of animals, and sometimes humans, which the AAs demanded. These ceremonial and feeding sites were located all over the world, most on or near the current equator or near earlier pole-shifted equators. They taught humans agriculture, astronomy, engineering, and provided the first laws. They then departed from the face of Mankind.

A noted activist against government secrecy has encountered a wall of silence in his FOIA requests to find out about the Central Intelligence Agency budget figures for 1947/8. The agency claims that they "are unable to locate" such fiscal records. Is the reason that they are "missing" because this was the very same time frame as that of the UFO crash near Roswell in July of 1947? There is now solid reason to support that there was a deliberate attempt at that time to hide operational expenditures that related to the crash. This included funds and allocation of capital resources for investigations, retrieval, transport, storage, security and study of the crash debris and bodies. Just as this author has found (as reported in books and in an online article series on the "memory metal" debris) that there exists a technical paper trail related to the crash- there must also be a fiscal paper trail. And in both cases it appears that there have been early and active efforts to make it difficult for anyone to follow these trails.
CIA SAYS, "WE CANT FIND THE RECORDS"
Steve Aftergood is a published engineer and directs the Federation of American Scientists "Project on Government Secrecy." He has spearheaded efforts at government records declassification and in reforming government secrecy and privacy policy for decades. He was instrumental in filing historic Freedom of Information Act lawsuits which led for the first time to the declassification and publication of total intelligence budgets under FOIA request. But when Aftergood filed FOIA requests with the CIA for its budget records for 1947/8, the agency's initial reply is that his request was denied. The agency cited applicable FOIA exemptions to such requests, including national security related exemptions. Over several years in the 2000's Aftergood filed several complaints and appeals to compel the CIA release of this fiscal year budget information. It had prior released other requested years and time spans, but strangely denied this specific request for the Roswell-year budget records.
Changing about face on what it had originally stated, the CIA finally wrote to Aftergood, "WE ARE UNABLE TO LOCATE A DOCUMENT CONTAINING, OR A SERIES OF DOCUMENTS FROM WHICH WE MAY DEDUCE, THE US INTELLIGENCE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1947." They indicated that the same holds true for the year immediately after the crash, 1948. This was an active, post-Roswell year. This was the year that military were letting contracts to Battelle Memorial Institute to study Roswellian "memory metal" (see prior articles) and the year that likely other outside studies were begun that required fiscal expenditure.
A decade on from Aftergood's last FOIA action on this, the CIA's last response seems to be their final. And it appears that Aftergood has now exhausted all if his administrative remedies to gain access to the requested records. In dialog with this author, Aftergood himself indicates that he believes now that the reason for the missing budget information is due to "poor record management" and "over-classification." But there are clues that can be culled from a careful review of the testimony made by those who were administrators at the Roswell base in 1947. And these clues -which have nothing to do with mismanagement- tell of a different reason, and they help us to understand just why these CIA fiscal records may really remain unavailable to the public.
ROSWELL OFFICERS MUDDIED FINANCIAL WATERS
According to three officers confirmed to have been at Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) in July of 1947, they deliberately destroyed, omitted or otherwise 'changed up' expenditures, disbursements and other "paper trails" that related to the crash. And obviously this was done under orders.
RICHARD CLAYTON HARRIS was the Budget and Fiscal Officer at RAAF, including that 1947 summer of the crash. Many years later, before his death, Harris opened up that it was in fact a "spaceship" that had fallen to earth. He confessed that there were bodies temporarily stored in a hangar, and that Walter Haut, the officer who issued the press release on the crash event, knew the true nature of the craft, telling Harris in front of the hangar holding the crash debris, that it was extraterrestrial and that it was piloted.
In an interview some time ago with author and Roswell research team member Kevin Randle, Harris confirmed that the crash was of an alien vehicle. Harris' daughter Ann states that her father had "allotted funds necessary for the cleanup and cover up. Dad allotted the funds to pay for housing and food for extra personnel, and for extra fuel for unscheduled flights out to Ft. Worth and to Wright." No such expenditure records have ever been found- and were made not be by someone.
According to Ann, her father was found murdered in his home just six months after his appearance on TV with Kevin Randle. She states that in addition to Albuquerque Police there were CIA Agents investigating the incident as well.
Colonel Patrick Saunders was the Base Adjutant at RAAF in the summer of 1947. As administrative Adjutant, he must have known and worked with Richard Harris. Many years ago when reached by researchers, Saunders laughed of the crash incident, later telling them illusively, "I can't specify anything." After her father's death, Saunder's daughter wrote to Kevin Randle saying of her father that: "At one point he bragged to me about how well he covered up the paper trail associated with the clean-up."
CLAIRE MILLER was stationed at the US Army Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC) Washington, DC headquarters in July of 1947. CIC officer Sheridan Cavitt is confirmed to have made an investigation with Major Jesse Marcel from RAAF at the Foster ranch where the object had fallen. When Miller (who likely knew Cavitt) was reached by author Karl Pflock in 1980, Miller was evasive, chuckled and tried to change the topic away from Roswell. In a follow-up letter to Pflock the former CIC administrator curiously wrote, "I have no recollection relating to the Roswell/Corona crash case. I was stationed in Washington, DC at the time. I may have approved investigative expenditures relating to that case, but that was 46 years ago of water under the bridge and my mind is blank!" Blank indeed. In his reply Miller is tacitly admitting financial oversight involvement.
HIDDEN PAPER TRAILS
Paper trails -written evidence- can prove very tricky maze to find and to navigate once found. It took years of circling back and making connections from various journals and contracts to discover that Battelle was retained by Wright Patterson to work on memory metal in the months following the Roswell crash. A similar financial forensic analysis may prove to be equally productive. Dealing with enormity of fallen ET craft and creatures costs money, it necessarily involves expenditure. Is it mere coincidence and mishandling that accounts for the CIA's account of why they can't come up with budget information for that critical period of time, but they can -and do- for other years? Given what the Roswell officers above have said, I think not. There has to be some indication somewhere of a "Roswell financial paper trail" of funding, expenses and disbursement associated with 66 years of keeping the alien secret.

While still in the mountains,Dr. Jonathan Reed came across the creature by accident while he and his dog were hiking in the forest. For unknown reasons his dog apparently attacked the creature. The creature, in reaction to the dog attacking it, began to defend itself. Dr.Jonathan Reed, seeing his dog was losing the battle with the creature, picked up a large tree branch and struck the creature in the head. Thinking he had killed it - he eventually ended up bringing the creature home.
The following is a brief synopsis of the forensic evidence presented by Mr. Harold Chacon. an indepent cellular biologist and Ph.D. candidate on the Art Bell show, December 9th, 1999.-- Four tissue samples and one 'blood' sample were delivered to Harold Chacon in a medical, nitrogen-cooled sample container. Each sample was wrapped in linen gauze. The samples were delivered to Mr. Chacon in June of 1999. Dr. Reed took the samples during his 1996 examination of the creature with his friend Gary. The samples were taken from the head wound inflicted by Dr. Reed. The blood sample was taken from fluids draining from wound. The tissue samples were cut from the edges of the wound. The samples were small - say one fifth the size of a pencil eraser. This particular set of samples was preserved by Gary and given to Jonathan by people that are currently taking care of Gary. Gary had previously sent the samples to his caretakers unbeknownst to Jonathan shortly after the 1996 examination. They were recovered during a reunion with Gary early in 1999. A transmission microscope survey, an electron scanning microscope survey and a gel electrophoresis chromosome analysis were performed using the samples. Tissue Sample 1 and 2: These two tissue samples contained skin and attached muscles. The skin resembles the superficial fascia of human skin. It is more elastic than human skin and has no hair nor hair follicles. The subcutaneous tissue has about one half as many sebaceous or fat producing glands as does human skin. Mr. Chacon stated that the skin is not like any earth animal although it is something like reptile skin. The muscle tissue resembles the occipital frontalis muscle of a human but is a yellowish-pinkish color instead of the normal gray color found in humans. Another intersecting muscle resembling the temporal fascia muscle similar to a human's was also discovered. The muscle tissues were found attached to the skin. These samples are not like tissues from any known earthly species. The Fluid Sample: The fluid sample had become desiccated and was rehydrated prior to analysis. Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and Nitrogen gases were found in the sample. Extremely high traces of copper sulfate were also found. White and red corpuscles with an elevated nucleus were discovered as well. None of the material is like known earthly blood material. A Gel electrophoresis study was performed using the red cells to determine the chromosome makeup. The sample revealed 46 chromosomes, just like a human and all but nine of these chromosomes are shared with humans. The nine dissimilar chromosomes are somewhat like those found in dolphins and certain sea tortoises. No record of chromosomes like these could be found in any database searched by Mr. Chacon and his colleagues. When asked if there was any way to hoax the chromosome samples, Mr. Chacon replied that there is no possible way to create them using any known earthly technology. Tissue Sample 3 and 4: The last two samples contain brain matter. One sample resemble the insulating bag that cushions the brain from the skull. The tissue lining resembles reptilian tissue but contains strange structures not found in any earth species. Some tissue of the exterior of the brain itself was found attached to the lining sample. It contained very unusual structures as well. These structures appear to be large nerve bundles that emerge from the within the brain and loop back down into it. Trickster's Realm: Lola's Deer: Deers and the Anomalous
My recent column (Trickster's Realm) for the BOA site is a continuation of my friend "Lola" and her deer experience:
I spoke to Lola the other day, and asked her if there was anything new to report on the weird deer front. She said no, but that something strange happened in the house again, though she couldn't remember just what it was. She just knew it was very strange. That in itself is weird.
As to the deer, she said she didn't remember the deer leaving. "I didn't see it go anywhere, run off" she said. "It seemed like it should have run off into the woods, or down the road, or something -- it just wasn't there."
She also said she was "really scared" and couldn't park the truck fast enough. She ran all the from the truck to their deck, and up to their front door. Fumbling with the keys as she tried to hurriedly get into the house. "I was really scared, the kids were really scared," and none of them could really say why. A deer on the road isn't at all unusual. So why the intense high tension and surroudning anxiety?
I told Lola about animals appearing in many UFO encounters and anomalous events; as sort of guides, or go between. There are many cases of deer appearing in these "screen memories" in the context of UFO events.
